Increased response efficiency by 94% with new platform

Logistics efficiency is crucial for business success, but this Swedish company’s outdated transport management system (TMS) caused significant frustrations. Delivery tracking was unreliable, and actionable insights for performance analysis were lacking. These issues not only slowed operations but also left users frustrated with daily inefficiencies.
To address this, the company needed a modernized TMS that streamlined delivery tracking, improved operational efficiency, and provided users with intuitive tools to manage logistics more effectively.
Process
Research & planning
As part of a team of five UX designers, we conducted three stakeholder interviews, three user interviews, and analyzed four competitors to identify key pain points and opportunities. This research informed the creation of three personas and five scenarios, ensuring our designs addressed real user needs.
Sketching & wireframing
Our team individually sketched and wireframed ideas based on the personas and scenarios. Through team reviews, dot voting, and feedback sessions, we refined the designs into cohesive mockups and developed a style guide to ensure consistency. Prototypes were created and iteratively improved based on internal and external stakeholder feedback.
Mockups & prototyping
I collaborated closely with engineers to align designs with technical execution. Working within agile sprints, I helped prioritize features and ensured seamless integration of the designs into the development process.
Testing & optimization
Our team conducted two rounds of moderated user testing on wireframes and prototypes, followed by additional testing with a client representative. Using Nielsen’s usability guidelines, we identified 24 usability issues, which we resolved to enhance the user experience. These findings also contributed to a roadmap for future improvements.
The redesigned TMS web app provides a modern, intuitive platform with real-time delivery updates and actionable insights. It significantly improves logistics management and user satisfaction while addressing key operational inefficiencies.
Results
Increased efficiency
The updated platform increased response efficiency by 94%, saving users valuable time and improving workflows.
High user satisfaction
Achieved a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 85. However, this was based on feedback from a small number of users and should be seen as an initial indication of success rather than a definitive result.
Effective usability improvements
Resolved 24 usability issues identified during testing, resulting in a significantly improved user experience and a foundation for future enhancements.
